Outpatient Diagnostics

In an effort to keep families together, Kids Oneida completes comprehensive outpatient diagnostics for children who may have otherwise been removed from their home for this purpose.  A detailed mental health analysis is necessary for some children to ensure they receive the most appropriate and least restrictive form of treatment.

An outpatient diagnostic is tailored to the individual needs of the child served and intended to address the specific areas in question.  Diagnostics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Psychiatric Consultation
  • Psychological Evaluation
  • Psychosocial Assessment

Family Court and local Departments of Social Services seek the therapeutic recommendations of Kids Oneida through this service. A diagnostic through KO can not only be completed within 30 days, but also for about 10% of the cost of placing a child outside of their home for an inpatient diagnostic. Less disruption in a child’s life and identifying effective interventions in their home community can be the key to a child’s mastery in decreasing potentially troublesome and detrimental behaviors.
